Parrot cages for cockatoos, macaws, african greys and amazons need to be not only large enough, but also sturdy. A large flight cage designed for multiple smaller birds, for example, would not work for a single larger bird even if it was roomy enough. When shopping for a cockatoo or macaw cage, look for thick bars that are appropriately spaced for their large and very strong beaks, as well as plenty of room for a parrot to stretch its wings (not to mention plenty of toys!)
