Parrot Cages by Size

Your parrot needs the largest cage you can afford.

Small birds need roomy cages with small bar spacing. Larger birds need large cages with slightly wider bar spacing (but heavier gauge).

Budgerigars (also known as Budgies or simply Parakeets in the U.S.) - 1/2" spacing
Cockatiels and small conures -- 1/2" inch to 5/8" spacing

Larger conures, caiques, mini macaws - 5/8" to 3/4" spacing

Amazons and African Greys -- 3/4" to 1" spacing

Macaws  -- 1" bar spacing

Cockatoos --  1" bar spacing
